How to recreate schema and data using SQL Script ??

Microsoft
SQL Server Database Publishing Wizard 1.1

Yesterday I had a problem in generating scripts for master tables
which contains images and audio columns stored as VarBinary type, after enough googling and trying some third
party software, I really found this free tool from MS for script generation as
useful. It is really  useful when you need to generate script for default
data in a tables and schema during project  implementation phase at client
place.

·
It generates a single SQL script file
which can be used to recreate a database (both
schema and data)

·
Helps developer to rollout the
scripts in a easy way during installation and distribution

(+) It
generates script for functions, SP’s

(+)
simple to use

(+) it generates
script for DataType – VarBinary(Max) ..i.e. for images, audio, video
stored in a table

(-)  There
is no option to generate script for a particular selected table or SP’s
L

Download it from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=56e5b1c5-bf17-42e0-a410-371a838e570a&displaylang=en#QuickInfoContainer

C# Tips #2 [How to get the list of softwares installed from Registry]

RegKey
Code Snippet: Checking the Registry Key

private void Form1_Load(object sender,EventArgs e)

{

Microsoft.Win32.RegistryKey
rgKey;

rgKey = Microsoft.Win32.Registry.LocalMachine.OpenSubKey(@"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall");

string[]
strListOfSoftwareKeys = rgKey.GetSubKeyNames();

bool blFlag = false;

foreach(string strEntry in strListOfSoftwareKeys)

{

if(strEntry=="YOUR
Application")

{

blFlag = true;

MessageBox.Show("Yes installed already ");

return;

}

else

{

blFlag = false;

}

}

if(!blFlag)

MessageBox.Show("Please install it and then
try.."
);

        }

Applicable Scenario

(1)     To get the list of installed application from registry

(2)  To check if it’s a licensed or not, by reading the keys
written during registration. May be old technique but still works for reason.

(3)  During .NET installation we may need to look for some of the third
party application like Acr.reader, MS office etc..
